Nepal Energy Efficiency Programme (NEEP) has commissioned a study related to biomass energy. The  overall objective of this assignment is to assist the Government of Nepal through the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat and Alternative Energy Promotion Centre in articulating a mid-term Biomass Energy Strategy and action plan which is respecting the diversity of situations in the country and is based on new empirical evidences. This strategy will develop a differentiated understanding of the diverse biomass energy situations in Nepal and come up with integrated solutions which shall contribute to the development of balanced and sustainable supply-demand systems for biomass energy. Ultimately, the formulation of a Biomass Energy Strategy will be an important complement to the National Energy Strategy to support the proper management of Nepal’s biomass energy resources.
